The crimp is not nearly as tight as it came from the factory, but the cover won't be coming off.ĭon't worry too much about marring the lower edge of the bezel as it sits inside the gauge housing, you'll never see the marks from removing and installing it.

I used the same flat bladed screw driver to gently push the edge of the bezel back down, seating it over the lip of the gauge body. I recommend testing its function in your car before putting the front cover back on. If you push it on too far the needle won't move smoothly and will jump around, use just enough pressure to seat the needle without jamming it into place. The needle is a simple press fit and doesn't have any locating tabs, so just put it back to 0 and push it onto the shaft. Success! After popping the front cover off the needle immediately fell off to the side. Here you can see the raised lip on the gauge housing. This allows you to remove the front cover of the gauge to access the needle. I used a flat bladed screw driver to carefully pry the crimped edge up until I could slip it over the lip of the gauge body. The bezel is made out of aluminum and is crimped over a rim on the gauge body. After doing some extensive high quality testing (shaking it) I determined that the needle had come loose from the gauge's shaft. I bought a used AWE Tuning boost gauge that came with the needle pointing at 10inHg at rest instead of 0, rotating the gauge around would cause the needle to change position. "Even though TSW said the wheels would only fit a Mercedes, the guys at Butler Tire tested them with 235/35 Toyo T1S and found they fitted nicely.Does your AWE boost gauge needle no longer sit where it should? Does it rattle around and seem loose? If so, the needle may have come loose from the gauge's shaft. "I wanted the staggered look and was told it could only be achieved with something like a custom HRE wheel, not a TSW," he said. However, he met opposition prior to mounting the 19x8.5" front and 19x9.5" rear TSW Volcanos. After a month of financial recuperation, Armando went back to the magazine of inspiration and duplicated the Audi's deep-dish look but made it his own with staggered widths. "I wanted to paint the car a non-factory color so people would know it was a custom paint job," Armando said.

Determined to do the job right, Nathan removed everything, including the engine and fenders, prior to blanketing the Audi canvas with Acura TSX grey and blue pearl. In keeping with the tidiness of his plan, Armando had Nathan Whitmire of Descended Customs integrate a Sparco fuel cap, tint the factory tail lights and roll the rear fenders in preparation for the wide meats. Bought with 80k miles on the clock, the Laser blue paint was scarred deep with clear-coat scratches and rock chips. And wanting more than factory HIDs, Armando fitted both the head- and foglights with Matrix 10,000K bulbs. However, that high level scares me on a stock block. I have maxed out my boost gauge (35lbs) during the winter now.

I had them send an update and am now around 30 lbs. The factory lights were then ditched in favor of European one-piece Hella headlamps. I have Kermas 150+ HP kit - VNT 17, yada yada yada and 'conservatively' tuned was around 20 psi.
